Halfway there!
Today (November 10th, 2013) I played my last round of my current road trip in Guymon, Oklahoma. After 21 months into my quest I have just surpassed the halfway mark. My count now stands at 26 states played.
I played Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado last weekend, then attended a conference in Denver for a week and today I played both Texas and Oklahoma, after playing New Mexico yesterday. Yesterday also marked another very special occasion on this quest as I managed to drive two golf balls off the top of Pikes Peak (elev. 14,110 ft). Neither one of them were my best efforts, but I figure they both measured between 2 or three miles! I checked with one of the workers at the Summit gift shop before doing so and he informed me that he had done the same thing a couple of times as well. He informed me which side to hit from, ensuring that no hikers might get “pinged” accidentally!
I’ll be flying back home on Tuesday (Nov. 12th) where I’ll be going into golf hiatus for a couple of months. My wife informs me that it snowed back home yesterday, though I think it has disappeared already. That being said, it won’t be long until it stays for awhile.
Though this current trip is over, I am still playing “catch up” with my writing. I’ll have a few more tales to post over the next little while. So keep coming back “Y’ALL”!
