Golf Swings Over America

My hotel in Gulfport, Mississippi is overlooking the ocean.  Only Beach Boulevard and the actual beach itself separate me from dipping my toes in salt water.  I had made my way immediately to the hotel off I-10 on Sunday night and really hadn’t travelled on Beach Boulevard, save only a block or two.  But as I headed out on my first full morning in Gulfport and turned onto Beach Boulevard I was immediately met by a line of traffic behind what looked like a snow plow.  Now I thought to myself, “Well this is really odd, it’s way too hot for snow”.

Turns out, it wasn’t snow after all. Seems the storm from the previous day had stripped the beach of most of its sand and pushed it up and across Beach Boulevard.  But here was a full fleet of graders, dump trucks, backhoes etc. doing exactly the same job they do with snow back home, but with sand.
